Tim is working late. Peyton hardly eats. I resort to raiding the fridge. Happily, something new is born.
Recipe:
Chicken (I used about 1 1/2 cups of a roasted chicken from Sam's)
celery- chopped
Craisins
Yogurt
Sour cream
dash of salt and pepper
I used a 2/3 mixture of yogurt to sour cream. Just enough to make it moist, probably about 3 Tbs total
It was awesome, and douglasshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10446588969361285464noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-309042088201033269.post-48734226096002746442012-04-06T15:33:00.000-07:002012-04-10T18:54:25.428-07:00Party Time!!The brown cow partySo the week of his actual birthday has passed. Here I am, this week, trying to convince him that it isn't ANOTHER actual birthday and that he will, in fact, not be four.I went with a milk and cookies-brown-cow-party. Here are a few pictures:

We spent this past week celebrating our wonderful, hyper, lively, curious, troublemaking, smart, adorable, and adored son. He turned three and I really can't believe it! He has single handedly changed my life and he brings us so much joy.
We started the celebration on his actual birthday, making birthday cupcakes that he got to decorate.
Then on the weekend we had tons of out of town douglasshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10446588969361285464noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-309042088201033269.post-40144945868780376192012-03-24T12:58:00.002-07:002012-03-24T12:58:36.004-07:00Banana Oat Pancakes
Check these puppies out! On our new quest to eat as many whole grain and fruits as possible, I've invented these. I think they're pretty good....and filling. Espcially after eating plain, old fashioned pancakes (I need to eat about 20 of those to fill up)
Ingredients
1 cup whole wheat flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1 large banana, very ripe, mashed

These are some of those super tasty, healthy muffins I made. I'm pretty excited that I finally got up the courage to try making my own recipes instead of half following someone else's. YAY for creativity (I don't have much so I feel like it's OK to be excited when some shows up)

The weather has been amazing and so out of character for March in our area. We've been spending more time outside and the boys love it.It's time like these I just look at these boys and I'm blown away by my own little family and how much I am blessed. Let’s see, how many times can you start a blog…again. I’m terrible, and persistent maybe J
Anyway, I’ve been doing a lot of experimenting in the kitchen and have had some folks ask for some recipes
I decided if I was going to be typing them out and pinning them, they may as well be on my blog. At least something should be on here. Additionally, we recently welcomed a new director at workdouglasshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10446588969361285464noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-309042088201033269.post-76789586033280966962011-07-22T07:42:00.000-07:002011-07-22T07:42:01.520-07:00A few of my favorite things...
Just thought I had to share..
On my first mother's Day, the hubs had pictures taken of him and my baby, just for me! He knows my addictions well :)
Since then, I have made it become a tradition; "gently" reminding him that no other present will do.
Here are a few from this year:

Guess I'm not one of the most faithful bloggers in the world. But I still do like to occasionally write some random thoughts, so you'll have to deal with me being sporadic. My baby boy is gone for a few days, his grandparents talked us in to giving him up for a few days. I miss him terribly, douglasshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10446588969361285464noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-309042088201033269.post-65773110629424778022010-06-09T08:22:00.000-07:002010-06-09T08:22:56.587-07:00Rainy day It is a wonderful, rainy day. Too rainy to worry about the loads of work that need to be done outside. So my response to this is to sit on my favorite chair with my favorite coffee cup and listen to silence while P. takes a nap. Sometimes, when it's like this I feel like maybe I should quit my job. Those moments don't last long though. douglasshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10446588969361285464noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-309042088201033269.post-66084439130993637852010-06-01T17:43:00.000-07:002010-06-01T17:43:17.470-07:00Better late than never...right?
For mothers day, my husband said, "Hun, what do you want me to get you?" Don't you just love questions like that, as if you want to tell them what you think you want.Last year, for my first mother's day, Tim had pictures taken of him and the baby, bought an awesome fram and gave it to me, all wrapped up and amazing!
So, this year, all I wanted was some more of those amazing pictures. The ones douglasshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10446588969361285464noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-309042088201033269.post-89435581259818881882010-05-27T08:19:00.000-07:002010-05-27T08:19:51.803-07:00boring is good.Well, what a great day. I say its great because I finally have found some time to write a lil' blog post. It's been a busy week and a half.
We're working on the backyard, still. The retaining wall is up but that's about all. We still have extensive landscaping and the patio and the deck to do. Thank goodness for contractors and other folks that know what they are doing, because we sure don't ;)

So this is it...the week has finally come. I guess I should start my story by telling you about the problem. The problem is our backyard. I never really liked it right off the bat. It is far too big and has way too much space that has to be landscaped. You know what I mean, mulched area, not grass. And then if you have mulched are you have to plant something in it and I just CANNOT grow ANYTHINGdouglasshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10446588969361285464noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-309042088201033269.post-72755069353770344152010-05-15T14:39:00.001-07:002010-05-15T14:49:59.336-07:00spinningI've recently realized how many meanings there are to the word spinning.#1) It used to mean turning around in place, you know, like a fun game to make you dizzy.#2) Then I realized a new meaning. Spinning, as in spinning in place. Like you're not getting anywhere. You know the feeling, running all day and at the end of the day feeling like you didn't get anything done. Lobster, steak and fire- does it get any better?
In memory/honor of our annual trip to Maine (that got canceled thanks to prego friends) we decided to eat like we were in Maine.
Yup, here are the prego friends!! And that's me with one huge piece of lobster meat, harvested perfectly with nothing but a meat pounder and scissors from Ikea. Peyton learning to ride the big boy mountain bike with daddy.
After trying to ride the mountain bike, Peyton moved on to more conquerable things, like riding the vacuum

What an exciting week it has been already. Little P is quickly learning, and I am running around behind him trying to keep up, at least a little bit.
Cleaning has been quite a challenge for a while, he loves to pull things out but I think he may have a tiny bit of his dad's perfectionism (this is good and bad). I mean as a grown up, being married to a perfectionist gets me a clean car, help douglasshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10446588969361285464noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-309042088201033269.post-21266108410648525592010-04-12T16:16:00.000-07:002010-04-12T11:03:16.622-07:00Menu MondaySo, I'm starting to menu plan.
